Illness & recovery

By being overweight, through obesity and gluttony, one can become ill — both physically and mentally. There is a risk of various complaints, such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, joint problems, stress-related issues, depression, and fatigue. And that does not make a person happy. Losing weight is therefore a good idea to start with, as it prevents many complaints. By eating a healthy and varied diet, one becomes physically and mentally healthier and clearer. Do not stuff yourself — that is one of the first tasks. Eat less. Try not to think about food too often, but do something else instead. Stay active and alternate activity with rest. Your body and mind need to adjust to the fact that you are putting less food into your system. You will notice that your emotions change. You may feel irritable and tired. These are withdrawal and detoxification symptoms. Your body is losing weight, and toxins are slowly leaving your body. This causes stress, and you must get through it. So take rest when it becomes difficult, and if you still have energy, remain active. Once you have passed through the first phase of withdrawal, you will become clearer in mind, and this in turn has a positive effect on the body. That is beneficial for your recovery.
